AI Legal Issues for Hawaii Employers: Three Things Employers Can Do
Whether your goal is increased productivity, streamlined workflows, or innovation to move your business forward, if you are figuring out how to take advantage of AI in your workplace, ES&A Director Sam Sneed recommends:
- Understand your users. They all have different needs, strengths, and concerns, and they will all have feelings about your plans. Consider building an interdepartmental team to help align your company AI goals with your employees’ workflow.
- Understand your processes and weak points. Any gaps in your workflows, cybersecurity, or documentation are going to be magnified by introducing AI – especially if you’re inserting agentic AI (which executes multistep workflows with minimal human oversight) into the mix. If you don’t thoroughly understand a process right now, launch your AI projects as small, measurable, segmented pilots until you do.
- Plan for incremental, measurable improvement – and celebrate them. Adopting technology that remakes how we work is a big change. Expect this to be an iterative process – pick a target, plan, test, train, and repeat. Celebrate the successes, no matter how small, so that everyone can enjoy them as they add up.
