On August 13, 2021, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released updated Guidance on Mitigating and Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in the Workplace, in line with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) mask and testing guidance issued July 27, 2021, as well as in light of the evidence of the transmissibility of the COVID-19 Delta variant. The guidance is for non-healthcare industries to help employers protect workers who are still not vaccinated or who are otherwise at risk even if fully vaccinated (e.g., if they are immunocompromised), and also to implement new guidance involving workers who are fully vaccinated but located in areas of substantial or high community transmission.
