OFCCP Issues National Interest Exemption to Facilitate COVID-19 Response Efforts

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the USDOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has issued a temporary exemption from certain federal contracting requirements. For the period from March 17-June 17, 2020, new federal contracts to provide COVID-19 relief efforts will be exempt from several obligations under Executive Order 11246; the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA) as amended; and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. See the FAQ sheet for more information on which contracts are covered and which obligations are and are not temporarily lifted.
