EEOC Posters Updated to Reference Pregnant Worker Fairness Act (PWFA)

The Pregnant Worker Fairness Act (PWFA), which became effective June 27, 2023, requires covered employers to provide reasonable accommodations for a worker’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation will create an undue hardship for the employer. The EEOC “Know Your Rights: Workplace Discrimination Is Illegal” poster has been updated to reference the new law, and should be placed in a conspicuous location in both the physical and online workplace. Note that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 imposes a monetary penalty for covered employers who fail to post these notices. The penalty, currently $659, is adjusted annually for inflation as required by law.

See the EEOC site for more information on the PWFA as well as the updated EEOC poster or go directly to the poster here
