E-Verify+, the new program from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), offers a streamlined Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) on an employee-facing portal, on which employees enter their own personal data, which will likely reduce data input errors. Once the form is electronically signed by both employee and employer, the completed form can be downloaded and archived by the employer. Most previously verified employees will be able to carry that status to future employers.
E-Verify+ will co-exist with standard E-Verify; when hiring a new employee, employers will be able to select which type of case they want to create in order to determine the eligibility of the employee to work in the U.S.
