The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is extending previously announced deferral of physical inspection of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to October 31, 2022. The deferral, first offered in March 2020 in response to COVID-19 precautions, allowed employers and workplaces operating remotely the flexibility to defer in-person verification of Form I-9 and supporting documents.
