On December 7, 2021, a federal judge in Georgia issued a nationwide injunction blocking the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors; the mandate had been set to take effect January 18, 2022, the date by which employees of federal contractors and subcontractors would have had to be fully vaccinated.
A federal judge in Kentucky had previously issued a preliminary injunction against the mandate on November 30, applicable in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee only.
