EEOC Announces Tentative EEO-1 2021 Reporting Schedule

The 2021 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection portal is tentatively scheduled to open on April 12, 2022, as announced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The tentative deadline to file the EEO-1 Component 1 Report is May 17. Generally, all private companies who employ 100 or more employees, or who have fewer than 100 employees but are owned or affiliated with another company so that the entire enterprise employs 100 or more employees must file an EEO-1 Report. Federal government contractors who have 50 or more employees and a contract amounting to $50,000 or more are also required to file an EEO-1 Report.

New for the 2021 EEO-1 Report: Multi-establishment employers reporting data for establishments with fewer than 50 employees must now use a Type 8 Establishment Report to submit such data instead of the discontinued EEO-1 Component 1 Type 6 Establishment List.
