Shareen has more than 25 years of experience in the labor and employment field in Hawai`i and California, developing and administering human resources policies and programs for all levels of the organization, from executive management to hourly employees. She earned a B.B.A. in Travel Industry Management from the University of Hawai`i and is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools. Her responsibilities have encompassed recruiting, training, employee relations, benefits, and labor relations issues; she has participated in corporate restructuring and HRIS conversions. Shareen assists ES&A attorneys and clients by:
- Establishing human resource systems
- Preparing affirmative action programs, drug-free workplace policies, Department of Defense Drug-free Workplace Policies and other required documents and policies for government contractors
- Reviewing employment policies, practices and forms to ensure consistency and compliance with county, state and federal regulations, as well as company practices
- Preparing job descriptions for clients in various industries
- Conducting compensation analysis
- Researching and analyzing Fair Labor Standards Act and other wage and hour issues
- Conducting research on various labor/employment and federal contracting issues
- Assisting with Department of Labor audits
- Assisting in labor relations and collective bargaining analysis
- Contributing to the development of strategic plans
- Assisting with company reorganizations
- Providing supervisor and manager training
